What you'll need
- High-powered blender — Smoothies, nut milks, and blended drinks without chunks.
- Nut milk bag — Strain almond or oat milk to a clean, creamy finish.
- Cold brew pitcher — Steep coarsely ground coffee in cold water overnight — no machine needed.
Instructions
- Steep the Earl Grey tea bags in 3/4 cup of boiling water for 4–5 minutes. For a stronger London Fog flavor, steep up to 6 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in a pinch of sea salt to smooth bitterness.
- If using lavender, add dried lavender to the steeping water along with the tea bags and remove with the bags.
- Stir the vanilla extract and vanilla simple syrup into the steeped tea.
- Heat the oat milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming (do not boil). Froth using a handheld milk frother, French press, or steam wand until foamy.
- Pour the tea concentrate into a mug, then gently pour the frothed oat milk over it, holding back the foam with a spoon and then spooning the foam on top.
- Serve immediately and enjoy hot.
FAQ
How do I make the organic vanilla simple syrup?
Combine 1/2 cup coconut sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Simmer until dissolved, add a split vanilla bean or 1 tsp pure vanilla extract, cool, and store refrigerated up to 2 weeks.
Can I make an iced London Fog?
Yes — brew a double-strength tea concentrate (use 2x tea, same water), let it cool, pour over ice, then top with cold oat milk and stir in the vanilla syrup.
